The political programs of non- cooperation and passive resistance; the launching of the National Congress; the suspension (regretted by Nehru) of civil resistance; the ""fast unto death"" of 1932 and those subsequent to it; the conflict between his basic belief in non-violence and his desire to cooperate with the British; his death...Both testimonial and tribute, this at intervals includes some criticism of the political position he has at times assumed, but in the main is eloquent appreciation.
