Tracing our past relations with the islands, indicating sibilities, problems, this is a precis of the misconceptions, misunderstanding apprehensions that the reports of the years have embellished (due to World War ) presents the islanders in their confusion of contrasting white precepts with the beliefs and customs; it shows how the whites in turn have been confused by and romance, the reports from traders, missionaries, moving pictures; are at cross purposes in their mutual misunderstanding. History, legend, scandal, science are intertwined. There is a recommendation for internation ship over all the islands not required for military reservations, in the world colonial service. Throughout the emphasis is that there should be of any problem of this area because if their customs and way of to us, cure are equally strange to them. A healthy approach, aware in good reading for all.
