The former Single Girl Goes To Town (1968) now conducts a field trip with cassette through the world of the recently remarried (her own experience and that of some 200 others) -- 60% of whom will establish Samuel Johnson's ""triumph of hope over experience."" This is middle-class midthink about who remarries and why; what to consider and discuss (whether it's your past or your arthritis -- admit it); the liabilities and leftovers of your predecessor; stepmotherhood (you are an outsider-- be an outsider when it comes to critical issues); merger marriages with two sets of children; ex-wife etiquette and other trouble spots and possible therapeutic help. The Miss Baer that was writes easily enough at the Dear Abby level of applied common sense and there's always a market for a prop or a trot such as this.
