VILLES ET PAYSAGES D'AMERIQUE: Cities and Landscapes of America

A thorough, scholarly survey of America and Canada, with the interest focussed on the topography, climate, and occupational pursuits of the various parts of the country. New York to New England, on to the middle and far west, completing the tour of the country in the south. There is little human interest -- little subjective -- for the book is largely a bird's eye view of the salient features of the various regions, an analysis of their populations and industries with keen social and economic commentary. Of primary interest to any foreigner in America.
