SEPTEMBER CHILD

The ""September Child"" is a little girl from Morristown, New Jersey, who became a big wheel in New York City and the theatre world. Jean Dalrymple's childhood had happy moments, but found her at best cared for in fits and starts. After random schooling, a business course landed her a job on Wall Street. When she met Dan Jarrett, she left her tycoons for the Keith circuit and vaudeville, and her future was on its way. She made a mark as an actress and playwright (Just A Pal); went to work for John Golden--and from playing scenes, and writing them, turned to acting behind them. A brief marriage to Ward Morehouse was an intermission between her work for Golden and independent publicizing. She met Iturbi, and another part of her life began. After travelling widely with him, she returned to New York City and her own public relations office. She took Grace Moore on tour in Latin America, worked for the American Theatre Wing, started in as an independent producer. Then came the opportunity to work at the New York City Center, her ""most rewarding work"" along with the Brussels World's Fair of 1958 (both projects opened to her through Howard Cullman). A swirl of theatre exploits and theatre people, among them ""Tallu"", ""Gee"" Lawrence, Mary Martin, Bob Benchley, Franchot Tone, G.B.S., Frank Craven, Charles Boyer, etc., etc., did not keep her from a second marriage to Colonel Philip Ginder, which in turn has not hampered a whirlwind career with a powerhouse behind it.
