WHY DO PEOPLE PRAY?

This is a 32 page booklet seen without the illustrations of June Goldsborough. To each page there is a free verse arrangement of simple, declarative sentences about the reasons for prayer. It is in the earnest voice of a little girl who has come to realize that prayers are of different kinds--thanks, for others, etc.-- and not just a series of hopeful requests for good weather and new possessions. It is a book to be used with children, especially small girls, and it seems like an item for Sunday School teachers to be made aware of rather than a book for general consumption.
