GARDEN IN YOUR WINDOW by Jean Hersey

GARDEN IN YOUR WINDOW

This is the sort of book that makes one want to take copious notes, go to the nearest florist supply house, and start that ""garden in your window"". Sad experience has convinced me that my green thumb is an outdoor thumb, but Jean Hersey gives such down-to-earth practical suggestions about soil, exposure, water and air, treatment of parasites, repotting, and so on that it seems that any tyro could follow her suggestions with good effect. The lists of plants that can be grown indoors give due recognition to problems of light and shade, the need for color, for scent, for quiet greenness, for specialties. Lots of information slighted in other books in the field.
