A HAT ON THE HALL TABLE

Without much divine guidance, Mrs. Davis has seen fit to present this as a novel: actually it is a harried, hurried running commentary on the life of Barbie, a minister's wife (which she is) during her first years of wife and young motherhood with babies underfoot and all kinds of things on her mind--the bazaar, the Strawberry Festival, teas; the door bell rings--it might be the cleaner; the phone never stops; and in quieter moments, there are the prayers or monologues she composes. It could only interest other ministers' wives who might have more time than our Barbie has--to read--inconsequential.
