Doty's following won't be surprised to learn that Crumb is Cindy's pet name for her dun pony, and they'll share Cindy's anxiety when her accidental witnessing of a crime and her new job at Ashford stables bring her--and Crumb--dangerously close to a world of unsavory horse show characters who are involved in drugging their horses and, far worse, killing them for insurance.
