HOW NOW BROWN COW

Susy doesn't want to be the little brown cow, but her family persuades her to be a good sport; after all, she wrote the story and all the second graders voted it the best one to put on as a play. The plot of the play which follows is inane enough for a seven-year-old author--a conglomeration of fairy tale situation-and-character prototypes--but the length and organization are more mature. The cherubic-looking children (despite the token integration, their sweet faces all look alike) go through the play and everyone cheers Susy. The form is new but here it's too long and uninteresting to succeed.
