KIRKUS REVIEW
The Asbjornsen folktale of the bear who saved Halvor's Christmas dinner from the trolls is crisply and graphically retold, and illustrated with a fine fresh flair for the funny-ugly dwarfs, a caress for the snuggery that is Halvor's cottage. The drawing and shading are subtle but there's no missing the point--it's an amusing, affectionate rendition.
