MAKING THE MOVIES

A definitive book for younger readers interested in the making of movies -- definitive of course only in the sense of adequate and competent covering of background and history, details of casting, sets, costuming, make-up, shooting, sound, actors, technicians, distribution, and the behind-the-scenes activity that goes into the making of the film today. There may have to be another book tomorrow and another next month, as new developments are perfected, but this forms the best basic text for juniors that I have seen. A rounded fact-book, charmingly presented with lively, gay spot drawings in warm gray and black.
