This is really the story of climate, done in an intensely concentrated text, expanded by loads of pictures in color. The whys of climate- of seasons- of rain are considered along with some pertinent facts as people learn to live with what fate has given them. The tropics- the land of perpetual cold- the temperate zones, north and south of the equator, with certain areas viewed as ideal -- the sub tropics- the deserts -- the mountains- the jungles -- the grasslands- here they are with their likes and differences. Good supplementary material, in reading difficulty a bit beyond the grade level at which the subject is first encountered.
