WHITE MANE

Taken from the French movie White Mane by M. Lamorisse, this is a rather strident fairy tale of a stallion and a boy in Camargue, where the Rhone meets the sea in the south of France. Captured by a band of horsemen, White Mane soon earns their enmity and they give him to the boy, Folco. In spite of his loving care, White Mane fights again, throws Folco, is recaptured, and regiven to Folco, who, with more than warranted patience on his part, goes with the stallion to a magic island where boys and horses are always happy.
