THE LOVE JUNK

An amiable report on a marriage in haste and a living at leisure. For the author, on a Life assignment and quite certain of her immunity in the romance department, met- and married ex-Navy Harry Harman in three weeks in the Virgin Islands. They were to live on ""Oil Cleaning and Recovery Barge #19679"" (named The Love Junk) while running a tourist business of harbor cruising, fishing and under water viewing in glass bottom boats -- only the barge had to be conditioned for living, the glass boats to be built -- all in time for the tourist season on St. Thomas. And there was the shakedown to living without electricity, plumbing; the necessity to learn about local food and buying habits, about the maids, all sorts and kinds, the know-how of getting what they needed when they wanted it; the speed-up the author's parents caused -- and the hard won success of their glans bottom boat idea. A slick job which is fun in the telling.
