KIRKUS REVIEW

In this very simple story of misunderstood love, a young Hopi Indian boy runs away because he thinks his mother no longer cares about him now that she has a baby (Little Brother) to care for. Little Thorn befriends a wounded coyote pup who listens without comment to all the boy's troubles. In the end, he of course goes home with the pup and a new conception of love. The browns and pinkish shades in the pictures are more remarkable than the actual drawings which are only standard.
