KIRKUS REVIEW

A police procedural background is filled in with the interlocking incidents that crowd Detective Inspector Kerry's official (and personal) life. The seven year sentence for one of his constables convicted of robbery, the dubious suicide of a 14 year old, the disappearance of a woman's stepfather, a big payroll theft, and all the information feeding in, tie together to Kerry's -- and his superintendent's satisfaction. Careful detail (as in Counsel for the Defense 1961) in English methodology.
