KIRKUS REVIEW

Martha only learns- when he is on the run- that her Eric is a criminal, involved in a robbery, and possibly murder. And she has more to fear from his accomplice- Neil- whom she believes, wrongly, has masterminded the seemingly successful theft, who intimidates her and jeopardizes her life. A lucky lead for Sgt. Priddy of the CID does not prevent a fatality to follow but enables him to put an end to an even larger operation than suspected. York too is overextending his operation (several books on several lists several times a year) so that it gets to be a question of too much- too soon.
