PICTURE BOOK OF CHEMISTRY by Jerome S. Meyer

PICTURE BOOK OF CHEMISTRY

By

Publisher: Lothrop, Lee & Shepard

This is the fifth in the popular Picture Book science series by the same author and illustrator. It is similar to the others in format, style and content. That is to say, the format is open and attractive, with many simple illustrations in color; the style is easy and conversational, and generally clear without talking down; the content is a once-over-lightly treatment of several basic ideas in chemistry such as state of matter, chemical changes, common elements and their uses, etc. The scientific accuracy is on the whole good, except for a half dozen or so astonishing errors that could have been caught by a high school student of chemistry. However, this book should have some value because of its qualities of brightness and ease.
