Jerrold Beim is one of the most successful tellers of small tales for small boys and Meg Wohlberg one of my favorite illustrators, so this combination is made to measure for my taste. Jerrold Beim can drive home a moral without making it obvious, and his story is told in such human terms that every character seems real. This is Jim's story, Jim who hated the nickname of Tiny and who tried to act big. One day he did something really generous, and won the reputation for having the biggest heart. And eventually he even lost the nickname. Good second year reading- and younger children will like it read aloud.
