ROCKY'S ROAD

Again Jerrold Beim combines problem solving with adventure to turn school experiences into a grand book for sixth and seventh graders. When a misunderstanding with a bully Brian, keeps Rocky and his friend Norm from positions on the basketball team, Rocky helps Walter, a new boy, start a school newspaper. In spite of Brian's taunts about the ""paper gang"" Rocky has fun. Then Brian is kicked off the team and Rocky and Norm have another chance. But the choice Rocky must now make between sports and journalism isn't resolved until he fights Brian's attempt to ruin the paper, decides his place is with Walter and lets Norm be on the team. Completely alive.
