THE CHRISTIAN IN POLITICS by Jerry Voorhis

THE CHRISTIAN IN POLITICS

By

Publisher: Association Press

It is not often that a man in public life gives sufficient time and attention to the relation of Christianity to politics to write a book on the subject. Jerry Voorhis served for ten years in Congress. He knows political life from the inside. So when he writes about Christians running for office, how to win elections, the civil service and Congress, he knows what he is talking about. The author contends that it is only as we mix religion and politics that our civilization is to be preserved. A strong plea is made to Christians to abandon the role of observers of the political scene and accept their full responsibility as citizens by seeking office or otherwise participating in political life. Many of our office holders would profit by reading this book. Perhaps church people would want to send a copy to their congressman or councilman.
