PSYCHOLOGY AND THE TEACHING CHURCH by Jesse H. Ziegler

PSYCHOLOGY AND THE TEACHING CHURCH

By

Publisher: Abingdon Press

How often we have wanted a book such as this to place in the hands of new teachers, new Church leaders, or even some old but open-minded leaders in both areas, that would enable them better to understand the people with whom they deal, the nature of the Church they represent, and why some things won't ever work, and why some other, more difficult approaches, turn out very well. Dr. Ziegler in no newcomer to the teaching field, having spent years in teaching at Biblical Seminary, and also having represented the Church of the Brethre in many endeavors at the educational level. Behind this book also his Willson Lectures at the Methodist Training School. One especially commendable feature of the book is its arrangement. The several chapters have all been broken down specific points, each of which stated, as a proposition. The enlargement is always looking back to the point being made. This not only makes for easy reading, but contributes mightily to the of the book later, when it becomes easy to refer back to a particular problem that Dr. Ziegler has discussed. This practical book should be in every Church library at least, and better still in the hands of its many teachers.
