Nirenberg's first book, Getting Through to People, got through to 150,000 (mail order?)--and this is guessably more of the same about and how and why people don't listen to each other whether at home or, mostly, on the job. There are lots of little dialogues between managers and supervisors and husbands and wives which provide the right ""feed-ins"" or ""cue-ins""--motivating, probing, infiltrating the right ideas, asking the right questions, eliminating ambiguity, quantifying, etc. All of it should promote pleasant and productive interaction (what we used to call how to win friends and influence people) and since you know there's an audience, why say no if you don't really mean yes.
