Jessica Lyon has written some good fiction for the teen ages, seriously treating lasting problems of personal adjustment. This one is about the first year of a young marriage that starts out starry-eyed only to have things become quite mundane before long. Marcy, the first of her high school class to get engaged, is the girl, and Gil Britton, who works with an air conditioning outfit, is the boy. Both have the potentialities for becoming sensible, well adjusted people, but drawbacks appear after the first flush of their honeymoon is over. Marcy is Jealous of Gil's Job: he gets out in the world while she must stay home and cook. Both of them are a little careless about money and they scrap frequently- until Marcy gets herself a Job and learns frankness and the ability to manage her time, and until Gil reciprocates by foregoing his constant demands upon her. Practical reading.
