LES FEMMES

Variously described as brother to Alice in Wonderland and Saint=Exupery's Little Prince, Lartique brings that special ephemeral quality to his photographs (101 in all) of les femmes, intuiting their changing fashion from 1903 to the present -- ""I adore women and my eyes are in love with them,"" and so he is, exuberantly, unabashedly and, one hastens to add, uncondescendingly (although Lartique is less successful in expressing the same feelings in his accompanying highly romanticized, cloying text).
