A VERY YOUNG SKATER

The latest of Krementz' very young competitor/performers takes us through the rigors, intricacies, and consuming demands of career-oriented ice skating. At ten, Katherine Healy is as pretty, personable, and self-possessed as Krementz' other subjects, and seemingly as single-minded. For her, being picked for Marie in The Nutcracker is an incidental honor; more thrilling is a two-minute-forty-second spot in Superskates at the Garden, with her solo specially choreographed by ""idol"" John Curry. For better or worse, the whole package is proficiently trim and polished as always.
