KIRKUS REVIEW

Another dillydalliance by a new entrepreneur in that old genre which seems more sensible than her last one although all judgment in this category is relatively lost to begin with. Anyway -- Rowena, penniless, takes a post as companion to old Mrs. Clune at Gryphon, the scene of a double tragedy three years ago (the unaccounted for deaths of Mr. Clune and his daughter) and a new one to come (the old girl is found in a trunk in the attic). On the other hand there's her handsome grandson Adam who will be her heir and Rowena's.. .. .. and she can easily follow the dots with half a mind or none at all.
