KIRKUS REVIEW

As good as any thriller, this lives up to the promise of Corbett's Maneater of Kumaon. Here is a record of the leopard who made 125 killings, of the terror that hounded the countryside, the cumulative horrors as the leopard struck again and again, and effort after effort to kill him failed. The stalking down of the murderer follows the record of his escape from traps, poison, snares- to final success. Fishing and hunting expeditions are part of the overall picture, but the leopard hunt is the main theme.
