Big sister Pinky Dinky offers little brother Tyler another wild, soothing tale—this time, seeing that someone has punched him in the nose, about her efforts to cope with aggressive new classmate Lane Puppytray. Featuring cute, dot-eyed cartoon figures and small cutout pictures digitally layered across color background photos, along with a maze and other interactive features, all cemented with bite-sized nuggets of dialogue in various faces and sizes, this sixth outing for Pinky offers at least as much flash as substance. Even younger readers may find Pinky Dinky’s eventual strategy, which is to stick with her friends and ignore Lane until the bully changes her ways, easier said than done—but they’re sure to enjoy the kinetic presentation.
