Superior adventure reading for boys, this latest by the author of so many fine boys' books has the same terse, vigorous style, authentic detail and thrilling story we have been led to expect. Mr. Kjelgaard really knows the Canadian locale and the dangers of the wilds. Link Stevens, a trapper, undertakes the rescue of the courageous little explorer naturalist, Trigg Antray, from the treacherous Caribou mountains after he and his pilot had crashed in that region. With his dog Chiri, Link finally manages to return with Antray to safety after many brushes with death, the loss of their equipment, and being hunted by the now-insane pilot and chased by wild animals in the struggle against the hostile wilderness of western Canada. Excellent fast-paced action yarn reminiscent of the works of Jack London.
