BOB MATHIAS, CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS

When young Bob Mathias won the ten-event decathlon grind at Helsinki this summer he was just past twenty one. And this was his second win of the toughest of all track events, since four years before, while just under eighteen, he'd won the decathlon at London. He has proved himself probably the greatest all-round track athlete the world has ever known. Yet this is only one phase of his story, for here is a true Frank Merriwell hero, a great athlete-football (Rose Bowl Stanford team), basketball as well as track-but a young man who in his personal life stands for the best type of ""all-American"". An inspiring story for youth, which should have a substantial plus sale at the High School reading level.
