WHY? BECAUSE by Jo Ann Stover

Email this review

The proverbial question ""why"" receives a simple, often humorous, response in relation to dozens of questions, each posed and answered double-spread with black and white line drawings. Pursuing each matter to the 'nth degree, a talent Miss Stover displayed more successfully in an earlier book ( Everybody Did, p. 451), indicates how unlivable an unordered world would be. Uneven in appeal, some of these questions will evoke response, others are beyond the young child's realm of comprehension. A sound idea designed to stimulate logical thinking, might have found more appropriate expression.
