Blustery General Billycock's fearful temper reaches its most violent proportions when a band of pigs attack his plantation. Nothing can bring solace to the overwrought General, now confined to bed, until his granddaughter Betsy brings him first the pronouncement of a wise old Indian and then a ""magic"" elixir. Once accepted by the bombastic General, it is the old Indian's cure that results in recovery, for when the raging pigs from within are driven out, then the external ones vanish as well. The potential for humor in the original idea never comes to light mainly because General Billycock never emerges from a shadowy background, while Betsy becomes the heroine of the story.
