THE SINGING CART

Eight to ten year olds will find this an engaging story --with its charming Mic family and the beguiling stubborn donkey. All sadness is at the end when the children become part of a delightful circus family and go off around Sicily with Sweet-Do-Nothing pulling the cart and father standing on his head in farewell. Though occasionally sentimental it is in general a successful story, interesting background.
