O LITTLE TOWN OF MAGGODY

The zany citizens of Maggody, Arkansas, now in the grip of a recession, meet the mostly messed-up performers and handlers of the C&W music world when small-time record company executives Pierce and Ripley Keswick decide to polish the tarnished image of their hard-drinking mega-star Matt Montana. Pierce and Ripley are going to bring him to Maggody, his hometown, for a Christmas concert and a visit with his aged great-aunt Adele. Maggody hurls itself into a frenzy of commercialism—from the souvenir shop opened by Major Jim-Bob's Scripture-quoting wife to the Matt-Mobile for carting tourists around to a dozen other tacky enterprises—all of it driving Sheriff Arly Hanks bananas—especially after Aunt Adele disappears from the nursing home and a couple of dead bodies surface in bizarre circumstances.
