TO MEET MISS LONG

An adequate ""also ran"" and little more, this New York ""Junior Miss"" -- which somehow never takes wings as does Sally Benson's young heroine. When her mother is called away, Ellen and her younger brother and her father are left to the tender mercies of young Aunt Louise. Ellen and Tommy decide to marry her off, and she disappoints them by quarreling with their candidate. Then there are Ellen's dates with boys, a dance and a new dress, a standup, Christmas present buying, Louise unpopular plan for a party which comes off better than the youngster dared expect -- and finally, their mother's return on Christmas and the announcement of their aunt's engagement to the man they had picked. Well enough -- but lacks the vital spark.
