THE BOOK OF WOMEN'S ACHIEVEMENTS

A vast compilation of facts in a rather tedious format which groups women by such professions or achievements as homemaker, reformer, politician, and pilot. There are some intriguing nuggets of information (did you know there was a real Veuve Clicquot--Nicole-Barbe, born in 1777--who inherited her husband's vineyard?), but for the most part this is one of those neither-nors: not detailed and accurate enough to be a reference work, not lively enough to stand on its own merits.
