KIRKUS REVIEW

In a companion to the same team's imaginative The Magic School Bus at the Waterworks, Ms. Frizzle conducts her class on a fact-finding mission into caves, down toward the earth's center, and to an erupting volcano. There's so much going on in these pages--mini-characterizations, reports, vocabulary, hilarious byplay--that the facts may be submerged by the fun; but for those levelheaded enough to assimilate it amid the hilarity, there's a good dose of basic geology here.
