KIRKUS REVIEW

Traditional to the fall season are the football games and Joe Archibald's football stories. this year's offering is about Steve Logan, Midwestern University's star quarterback. Steve's father had played on the same team until his expulsion for an incident which he blamed on Tem Kilgore, who held the all-time Conference passing record. All his life Steve has been reminded of this grudge by his father, who is determined that his son beat Kilgore's record. While hurling the pigskin Steve learns to handle his father, and gains the championship along with an independent life. There is plenty of fast-paced action on the field, told in typical Joe Archibald style.
