KIRKUS REVIEW

The world's heavyweight boxing champion tells his story in a simple modest record. His rise from Alabama farm boy to greatest of all fighters is an interesting chapter for all readers. Prize fight fans will enjoy more the detailed story of his bouts. His record in the ring is outstanding; his service in the Army won him the Legion of Merit. The fact that this is his own story gives it special value, though in more professional hands a more dramatic story might be told.
