KIRKUS REVIEW

Another in the lively series about Russell, seven, and his sister Elisa, now almost four. Here, Elisa writes a letter and gets a package in return; Russell cuts Elisa's friend's hair; Russell has his first sleepover date with Teddy upstairs; and other similar, homey, true-to-life events mark their days. Hurwitz is like a modern Carolyn Haywood: her books have the appeal of being chapter books for newly proficient readers, telling about real children getting into and out of minor scrapes. If you have one, you'll want them all.
