SPEAK UP, EDIE!

Edie has developed a talkative streak so strong that her Daddy complains he can't hear himself think, Mother says she can't get a word in edgewise and her teacher Miss Mason, who obviously studied child psychology, appoints her narrator of the class Thanksgiving pageant. The ensuing brief but sudden attack of stage fright is just as pointed as the lesson Edie learned in That's Right, Edie! (KR, 1966) but Johnston and Galdone treat this red-haired bigmouth with good humored affection and after her first dumbstruck moments on stage, Edie makes a spirited comeback.
