MODERN FLY CASTING by John Alden Knight

MODERN FLY CASTING

By

Publisher: Scribner

If it is by John Alden Knight, it's sure to be something new and probably radical -- yet anglers have become so interested in his theories as set forth in The Modern Angler, that they're sure to want to investigate this his new book. There are more new wrinkles here, such as the ""free wrist"" grip and ""highback cast"", which are painstakingly described so that the reader gets more than an idea -- a full lesson. All fundamentals are outlined; then wet and dry fly casts, specific stream problems; salmon rod and bass bug rod; training and the selection of a fly rod; rod a action and the care of rods. Add to all this 32 excellent half page photographs of the author in action showing how it should be done, or how not, and you have a book any angler will enjoy. A book for public library shelves as well as bookshops, and remember too -- with most big game and deep sea fishing out for the duration, there will be hundreds of new anglers.
