The discovery of a six months' old cadaver of an elderly Russian woman in takes General Kirk, of the British Intelligence, to the League of White Russians to which she belonged, and its Colonel Danilenko. It is Danilenko who alerts Kirk to the assassination attempt which will take place when Khrushchev's keliest successor lands in England. Lots of excitement built in and built up in the cold war complex of affiliations and identities which are hard to determine, ogus or bonafide.
