KIRKUS REVIEW

General Kirk, of British Foreign Intelligence, with his assistant Michael Howard, and Penny Wise (some day to marry Michael), tie in a silly and impossible murder, which has reliable witnesses, with a Soviet agent, learn their mistake and find a new trail. The dead girl still alive, a group of widows with only sons, a statue that is a talisman of decay -- bring Kirk on a rescue mission to save Howand and Penny. Mettlesome -- if unlikely.
