THE PIOUS AGENT

Shoot first, pray later. That's the trademark of British C.E.D. Major Xavier Aloysius Flynn, a ""fervent Catholic"" and ""Grade A cocksman"" who killed JFK for the CIA as well as 50 Soviet illegals as part of Operation Purge. Flynn's current assignment is to smash FIST, a group of Trotskyite industrial saboteurs whose next target appears to be the motorcycle factory owned by Sir Geoffrey Morgate. A slew of poison-darted corpses so clutter up the obliquely transparent action that you may not even realize that British counterespionage is still chock full of two-timing Mothers. And what about Operation X? Superstud superagent kid stuff in which the author of Room at the Top turns over an old new leaf.
