UNKNOWN MISSION

Another republished leftover in the Withered Man series circa 1940 is to be read, if at all possible, for its fashion touches (silver fox cape and plum colored plus-fours) and facial expressions -- a Frenchman whose lips twist and snarl although there's a German that roars all the time -- even twice in four lines. Anyway Bruce Murdoch and Mary, agents, posing as a honeymoon couple, handle some spies and stolen papers and a Plan in those World War II days when a German General could be called Von Hiddenthrop. . . . Would that deceased meant desist.
