MURDER: LONDON-SOUTH AFRICA

Roger (Handsome) West is at the top of the Yard these days, but he's reached a personal crisis stage. Too much work and middleage have slowed him down and induced the sort of self-doubt and tetchiness that can rob a career or a marriage of zest. The case starts with a wan West assigned to a diamond smuggling ring willing to dabble in murder and it takes him from London to South Africa to a new image of himself. Handsome entertainment.
