THE TOFF AND THE STOLEN TRESSES

The Honourable Richard Rollison, known as the Toff, has gone on serially for these many years. With his uppercrust ease and his connections at Scotland Yard, the Toff has a certain 1930's charm -- he investigates violently but seldom gets his hair mussed any more than William Powell did as Mr. North. This case though is a big, hairy business with some hoary devices and some nearly fatal beatings before the Toff binds it all up. The Toff is no relation to this author's more realistic series of sleuths -- Gideon, West et al.
